Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
This policy explains what information appjoy ("appjoy", "we", "us") collects when you visit appjoy.dev, book a call with us, contact us or use the appjoy app (built on JoyBot AI), how we use it, and the choices you have. It also explains how we handle data we receive from Google when you connect a Google account.
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We only collect the personal details you give us, such as when you book a call or email us, plus basic usage data.
- If you connect a Google account, we only use it to create, update and delete the calendar events and Google Meet links for calls booked with us. We don't use Google data for advertising, sell it, or use it to train AI models.
- We use Google Analytics (through Firebase) to understand how visitors use the site.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you book a call, we collect your name, email address, time zone and the time you choose. When you email us, we receive whatever you choose to share, such as your name, company and details about your project.
When our team signs in to the appjoy app, we process their name, email address and sign-in details so they can access it.
Information collected automatically
When you browse the site, we and our service providers collect standard technical information, including:
- Pages you visit, links you click and how long you stay
- Browser type, device type, operating system and screen size
- Approximate location (country or city) derived from your IP address
- The website or ad that referred you to us
This is collected through cookies and similar technologies set by Google Analytics, and through server logs kept by our hosting provider.
How we use information
- To reply to your enquiries and provide the services you ask for
- To understand how the site is used and improve it
- To measure whether our advertising works
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse
- To meet legal, accounting and tax obligations
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to measure visits and usage, and Google Ads conversion tracking to see when a visit from one of our ads leads to an enquiry. These services set cookies in your browser and process data on Google's servers. You can learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works normally without them.
Google user data
The appjoy app can connect to a Google account through Google OAuth so that every call booked with us gets its own Google Meet link. Only appjoy staff connect a Google account; people booking a call do not need one.
What we access
When an account is connected, we ask Google for these permissions only:
- Basic sign-in (openid, email): the email address of the connected Google account, so we can show which account is connected.
- Google Calendar events (calendar.events): to create, change and delete events in the account's primary calendar.
How we use it
We use this access only to create a calendar event with a Google Meet link when a call is booked, move it when the call is rescheduled, and delete it when the call is cancelled. We only touch events that the appjoy app created. We don't read, copy or analyse any other calendar events, contacts, email or files.
How we store and protect it
We store the connected account's email address, a Google refresh token, and the ID and Meet link of each event we create. The refresh token is encrypted in our database and is never shown to anyone. All data is sent over HTTPS and is only accessible to authorised appjoy staff.
Sharing
We do not sell Google user data or share it with anyone. The only exception is the Meet link for a call, which we include in the confirmation email sent to the person who booked it. We don't use Google user data for advertising, and we don't use it to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine learning models.
Retention and deletion
We keep the refresh token and account email only while the account is connected. Disconnecting the account in the appjoy app deletes the stored token. You can also revoke our access at any time from your Google account permissions page. To ask us to delete any remaining data, email hello@appjoy.dev and we'll do it within 30 days.
Limited Use
appjoy's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run this website and our business:
- Google Firebase Hosting serves the website.
- Amazon Web Services hosts the appjoy app and its database.
- Google Calendar and Google Meet create meeting links for booked calls.
- Google Analytics and Google Ads measure site usage and advertising.
- Google Fonts serves the fonts on this site, so your browser connects to Google to load them.
- Our email provider handles messages you send us.
These providers process information on our behalf, or under their own privacy policies where they act independently. We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a merger or sale of our business.
Client projects
When we build or host software for a client, including customized versions of JoyBot AI, any data in that software belongs to the client. We handle it only on their instructions, under the agreement we have with them. That data is not covered by this policy. Please see the privacy policy of the business you deal with.
How long we keep information
We keep booked call details for as long as needed to hold the call and follow up with you. We keep email correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you and manage our relationship, and as required for legal and accounting purposes. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of our analytics account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or delete it

- Complain to your local data protection authority
To make a request, email hello@appjoy.dev. We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
International transfers
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, they use recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, and we limit access to personal information to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.
Children
This website is meant for businesses and is not directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect their personal information.
